How we gained FA Charter standard
We have to be teaching football to 1 or more year groups for a minimum of 4 weeks in an academic year. All Key stage 2 classes are taught football for 6 weeks in the academic year.
We have to offer an after school football club for girls and boys in Year 5 and 6. This club is run on a Tuesday.
We have to have entered or be prepared to enter football competitions or offer outside coaching. We have entered the Mini Youth games run by Medway council and have taken part in a 6 week coaching course run by MHS in association with Gillingham football club which culminated in a tournament between all participating schools held at Gillingham’s training ground.
Pupils, both boys and girls have to be playing for football clubs that have gained FA charter standard themselves. We have several pupils who play for Lordswood junior football club and other pupils who play for a variety of other teams.
What we gain for having FA Charter standard.
In achieving FA charter standard means we are committed to raising the profile of football in our school.
Since gaining the award we have received new equipment including footballs, goals and cones.
We also receive information and free tickets to see women and youth International games.
The school also has the chance to receive coaching and enter FA competitions.
